SK Tours of Maine

SK-Tours of Maine is the only Stephen King Tour of the Bangor area. (or Derry as it is known to Steve’s “Constant Readers”) This tour started in 1990 in conjunction with Betts Bookstore. Betts Bookstore was owned by Stu and Penney Tinker for 20 years, but it has been a full time, year round business since 2008. The business is now ran and tours conducted by Stu’s son Jamie. You will find the tours fun and interesting even if you are not a huge fan of Stephen King. The tours feature quite a bit of Bangor’s history too. Photo ops are numerous, and interaction among the guests is encouraged. Feel free to e-mail SK-Tours@msn.com if you have any questions. For more information, visit their web site

What Our Guests are Saying:

A wonderful B&B in the center of Maine! We visited The Brewster Inn with 2 other couples in October. We had planned our weeklong trip to Maine in the hope of enjoying the fall colors and were not disappointed. In finding the ideal place to stay, after some internet research, we found the Brewster Inn and the terrific reviews encouraged a call to the innkeepers, Mark and Tina Stephens. From the first call, we knew we had found the right place to stay. Speaking with Mark and describing the kinds of experiences our over-70 aged group wanted to have, Mark shared a number of wonderful ideas that really got us excited about visiting Maine. We booked right away!

Be sure to visit Moosehead Lake, consider a moose adventure, take pictures of the nearby covered bridge and just enjoy the friendly people in the small towns and villages that are in this part of Maine – and of course, have plenty of lobster and lobster rolls!” Jeff D
